We want our natural products to be good for you and the environment, to look great in your home, to smell wonderful in your shower, and to feel amazing on your body.

Our Story

Our goal is to create products that provide a refreshing and relaxing body care routine.

In the fall of 2013, I started on a journey to really understand what my family was putting in and on our bodies. I began reading labels and researching the different ingredients in everything from our food to our beauty care products. One of the first products I really looked into was my body lotion. It had a ton of ingredients and didn’t really seem to help all that much. So I decided to give lotion making a try with some simple, natural ingredients. I liked my lotion and moved on to deodorant. Not long after, I saw a recipe for bar soap and was intrigued. You could make bar soap in your kitchen? With chemical reactions? What?! Sign me up!

My first batch was made with a few plant-based oils, lye and a little peppermint essential oil. I used a rinsed out chicken stock box for a mold. The soap turned out great! I discovered how much softer and richer real soap is on your skin compared to what large manufacturers produce today. My husband has very sensitive skin, and he really liked the soap as well. That started my soap journey for family and friends.

Over the next few years, I learned how different oils impacted the look and feel of soap and enjoyed trying and creating all kinds of recipes. My goals became crafting a soap that doesn't dry out my hands, has a rich creamy lather and lasts a long time. I also started to experiment with different colors and additives to see what kind of fun and artistic designs I could make.

In the mean time, we had two sweet baby girls who are 15 months apart. Our youngest had baby eczema that never really went away. We tried several different types of natural baby washes but nothing really helped. One day, we just decided to try our handmade soap on her - and that’s the last we saw of her eczema.

With our girls becoming toddlers, my husband wanted to spend more time at home. He was a management consultant who traveled full time. With a desire to spend more time with our children and me, he left consulting and started looking at other opportunities. We decided to officially launch the soap business so we could spend time together as a family doing something we enjoy. I am the artist that makes the soap, and my husband helps run the business. He’s also the master woodworker behind the beautiful soap dishes. We are blessed to be able to work together as a family!

Our goal is to make high quality, beautiful and natural products you will enjoy just as much as we do. We want everything we make to be good for you and the environment, to look great in your home, to smell wonderful in the shower, and to feel amazing on your body.

Benefits and Soap Care

Our small batch process combines premium plant based oils and butters with water or juices and lye. These ingredients chemically react to produce soap and glycerin. Most commercial soap producers remove the glycerin during manufacturing, making a harder but harsher bar. Our process preserves the glycerin in the bar, which attracts and retains moisture on your skin. We also “superfat” our bars, meaning we use more oil and butter than the amount of lye requires. This, coupled with the glycerin, acts as a nourishing lotion for your skin.

Because we retain the glycerin in our handcrafted soaps, please be sure to allow your soap bar to dry between uses, making sure not to rest it in standing water. This will allow you to get the most use and enjoyment out of these specialty bars. Having said that, we do use our bars at our main sink where our 4 and 5 year old daughters use excessive amounts of flying water when they wash their hands. And our soap does just fine. It could be the amazing soap dishes my husband makes that help the soap dry; I’m not exactly sure. But keeping them as dry as you can certainly can’t hurt!
